Job Description:

A Software Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and lifecycle of software products from ideation to launch and beyond. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure that the product aligns with business goals and meets customer needs.

The Product Manager acts as the voice of the customer, translating user needs and market trends into actionable product features, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs, balancing long-term vision with short-term priorities.
  2. Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and customer pain points to inform product decisions.
  3. Feature Prioritization: Work with stakeholders to prioritize features based on customer needs, market trends, and business impact. Manage the product backlog and make strategic trade-offs.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to ensure the successful execution of product initiatives, from concept to launch.
  5. Customer Feedback & Engagement: Gather and analyze customer feedback through interviews, surveys, and usage data to improve the product and enhance the user experience.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  1. Product Management: Strong understanding of product management principles, including product lifecycle management, roadmaps, and feature prioritization.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software development processes, including Agile and Scrum methodologies. Ability to communicate effectively with development teams.
  3. Analytical Thinking: Ability to use data and metrics to drive decision-making measure product performance against KPIs.
  4. Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills to coordinate & lead teams towards a shared product vision.

Educational Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (required).
  2. Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
  3. 1-3+ years of experience in product management, particularly in software development or technology-focused companies.
